You may see this error message if you’re trying to use a library in the Musio catalog that your current license doesn’t authorize. This usually happens when the library hasn’t been purchased yet from the Musio Marketplace. Here’s how access works for each license type:
- Musio+ Complete, EDU (one-year) users – have access to all instruments currently in Musio, plus all future instruments automatically (as long as the subscription is active).
- Musio+ users – have access to all Cinesamples instruments currently in Musio, plus all future Cinesamples instruments automatically (as long as the subscription is active). Libraries made by third-party developers are not included.
- Musio 1 users – have access to all instruments added to Musio through the end of 2024. Any new instruments released after that date will need to be purchased individually through the Marketplace, or accessed via a Musio+ Complete subscription.
If you fall into one of the groups above and are seeing this message on an instrument that you should already have access to, this may be a UI bug rather than an authorization issue and is unexpected behavior. Our Development team is aware of this issue and should have a fix out in the next build very soon. Here are some steps to help:
Step 1: Update Musio
Make sure you’re using the latest version of Musio.
Open Musio Connect (Musio’s companion app).
Look in the bottom-left corner for a red Update link.
If you see one, click it and follow the prompts to install the latest update.
Step 2: Try a Temporary Workaround
While we continue investigating, you can often get things working again with these steps:
Close your DAW.
Open Musio Connect manually.
Then reopen your DAW and load your session.
Your instruments should now load correctly. If needed, reloading the session/plugin usually helps as well.
