If you’re trying to download instruments in Musio, but the red download arrow is grayed out and won’t let you click it, this usually means your version of Musio is outdated and doesn’t support the instrument you’re trying to download. Here’s how to fix this issue:
1. Update Musio to the Latest Version
- Open Musio Connect (Musio’s companion app).
- Look in the bottom-left corner. If you see a red update link, click it to install the latest version of Musio.
- Once updated, try downloading your instrument again.
If the update was successful, the issue should be resolved!
2. Check for an Error Message
If updating didn’t solve the issue, hover your mouse cursor over the grayed-out download arrow.
- If an error message appears, take note of what it says.
- Visit our Troubleshooting Error Messages page and find the article that matches your error message for step-by-step instructions on how to solve it.
3. Check if the Instrument is Unauthorized
In the Catalog tab, while looking at the sample library collection, is the collection dimmed out and does it have a Store icon on the top right corner of the collection image? If so, this library may be showing the red download arrow as grayed out because it hasn't yet been purchased. Click the Store icon to be taken to the Musio Marketplace to purchase the library.
