How To Install Musio

Welcome to Musio! This guide will walk you through the installation process step by step, ensuring you get up and running smoothly:

 

Step 1: Download Musio

  1. Go to portal.musio.com and log into your account.
  2. Once logged in, click one of the download buttons in the top-right corner and select the version for your operating system (macOS or Windows).

Step 2: Install Musio

Installing on macOS

  1. Open the downloaded .pkg file.
  2. A setup window will appear, guiding you through the installation process.
  3. Agree to the Terms and Conditions when prompted.
  4. Choose the installation type:
    • The Standard Install option is selected by default, and we strongly recommend keeping it this way. Click Install to proceed.
    • If you select Customize, you can uncheck certain components, but we advise against this to avoid potential issues.
  5. Once installation is complete, click Continue to launch Musio in standalone mode (outside of your DAW).
  6. After verifying that Musio opens correctly, you can close the installer.

Installing on Windows

  1. Open the downloaded .zip file and extract its contents.
  2. Run the .msi installer file.
  3. A setup window will appear, guiding you through the installation process.
  4. Agree to the Terms and Conditions when prompted.
  5. By default, all components are selected, and we recommend keeping it this way. Click Next to continue.
    • New users should ignore the “Clean Install” option if it appears.
  6. Near the end of the installation, a User Account Control (UAC) prompt may appear, asking:
    "Do you want to allow this app to make changes to your device?"
    • Click Yes to proceed.
  7. Once installation is complete, launch Musio in standalone mode (outside of your digital audio workstation).
  8. After verifying that Musio opens correctly, you can close the installer.

Step 3: Open Musio and Log In

  1. Open Musio.
  2. Log in using the email and password you used when purchasing or signing up.
  3. Follow the guided tour to get familiar with the plugin’s features.
  4. Explore the instrument catalog and start creating music!
