If you encounter issues while installing Musio due to antivirus or firewall interference, this guide will help you resolve them. While Musio is now widely recognized as a safe application, there may still be the rare instance where antivirus software or firewalls flag it during installation. Below are scenarios that have come up in the past and steps to address them:
Kaspersky Blocking Musio Installation
If Kaspersky identifies Musio as a potential threat, follow these steps to add Musio to the trusted applications list:
- Open Kaspersky.
- Go to Settings (via the cog icon).
- Select Additional on the left-hand side.
- Click Threats and Exclusions.
- Choose Specify Trusted Applications.
- In the new window, click Add.
- Locate Musio in the list of applications.
- Select Musio and click Next.
- Set exclusions for Musio and choose the Status as Active.
- Click Add at the bottom right to confirm.
- Repeat these steps for Musio Connect, as it is a separate but related application that must also be whitelisted.
You should now be able to install Musio successfully!
Microsoft Defender SmartScreen Alert
If you see a Microsoft Defender SmartScreen alert while installing Musio, follow these steps:
- Click More Info on the warning dialog.
- A Run Anyway button will appear—click it to proceed and whitelist Musio.
- Repeat the process for Musio Connect to whitelist both applications.
Other Antivirus or Firewall Programs
For other antivirus or firewall software that might restrict Musio installation:
- Add Musio and Musio Connect to the exceptions/trusted or allowed applications list in your antivirus or firewall settings.
- Additionally, whitelist r2.cloudflarestorage.com, as this is used by Musio for essential operations.
