What to Do If Musio Doesn’t Appear as a Plugin in Ableton Live
Ableton Live should automatically scan for new plugins when launched. If Musio does not appear in the Plug-ins list, first, restart your computer, and if that doesn’t help, follow these troubleshooting steps:
Step 1: Check Ableton’s Plugin Preferences
- Open Ableton Live.
- Click Live (Mac) or Options (Windows) in the top menu.
- Select Settings/Preferences.
- Click the Plug-Ins tab.
- Make sure the VST3 Plug-In System Folders are turned on.
- If you installed Musio to a custom location, turn on VST3 Plug-In Custom Folder and click Browse to select the correct folder.
Step 2: Rescan Plugins in Ableton Live
- In the Plug-Ins tab of Preferences, click Rescan.
- If Musio still doesn’t appear, click Hold ALT (Option on Mac) + Rescan to force a full rescan of all plugins.
After rescanning, Musio should now be available in the Plug-ins list.
