If you open Musio and notice that instruments you previously downloaded no longer appear as downloaded, this guide will help you understand why and how to fix it.
Check Your Samples Location
- Open Musio Connect and go to the Instruments tab.
- Look at the Samples Location at the top middle of the screen.
Musio may not recognize your downloaded samples if:
- The Samples Location folder was recently renamed, removed, or moved manually through Finder (Mac) or File Explorer (Windows).
- Or if you’re using Musio on a second computer but haven’t pointed it to the correct Samples Location.
To fix this, click the “Move…” button next to the Samples Location and select the correct folder where your samples are stored. After that, you may need to re-trigger the downloads.
Re-Trigger Your Instrument Downloads
Even if your instrument files are still on your drive, Musio might not show them as downloaded until they are re-verified. Here’s how to resolve this:
- Option 1: Load a Previous DAW Session
- If you have a session in your DAW that used Musio instruments, open it.
- Musio will automatically re-download the instruments, restoring them to your library.
- Option 2: Manually Load Instruments in Musio
- Open Musio and locate the instruments you had previously downloaded.
- Click the Load button next to each one.
- If the files are still on your drive, the instrument will load instantly without needing a full re-download.
