If you see this error message while trying to move your samples, you may be wondering how to proceed if you need to close Musio first. This happens because Musio and Musio Connect are separate applications that work together:
- Musio is where you browse the catalog, load, and play instruments.
- Musio Connect manages your license, downloaded instruments, and global settings.
When moving your samples, only Musio Connect should be open. Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Close All Instances of Musio
- Open Musio Connect and go to the Instances page.
- If you see any instances of Musio listed, that means they are still running and need to be closed.
- Some DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) don’t completely shut down plugin instances when closed, so you may also need to quit your DAW or open an empty session to fully close Musio.
2. Pause or Cancel Any Downloads
- In Musio Connect, go to the Instruments page.
- Check if any instruments are currently downloading at the top of the page. If so, pause or cancel them or wait until they are totally finished.
Once all Musio instances are closed and no downloads are running, you should be able to move your samples without any issues.
