If the macOS Uninstaller doesn’t work on your system version, or you need to uninstall Musio on a Mac manually for any reason, follow these steps to completely remove Musio from your computer:
Step 1: Remove Musio Files from Your System
-
Open the Go to Folder Tool:
- Click on any empty spot on your desktop.
- At the top left of your screen, click Go and select Go to Folder.
-
Navigate to the First Folder:
-
Copy and paste the following location into the box that appears:
/Users/Shared/Musio Connect -
Drag and drop this folder into the Trash.
- Note: This is the default location for Musio samples, so deleting this folder will remove all downloaded instruments. However, if you have changed the Samples Location in Musio Connect, you’ll need to locate and manually delete that folder as well if you want to uninstall everything including your downloaded instruments.
-
Copy and paste the following location into the box that appears:
-
Remove Additional Folders:
-
Repeat the same process for each of these locations:
- ~/Library/Application Support/Musio
- ~/Library/Application Support/Musio Connect
- /Applications/Musio.app
- /Applications/Musio Connect.app
- /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/Components/Musio.component
- /Library/Audio/Plug-Ins/VST3/Musio.vst3
-
Repeat the same process for each of these locations:
Step 2: Remove Background Processes Using Terminal
-
Open Terminal:
- Press CMD + Spacebar, type Terminal, and hit Enter to open it.
-
Enter the Following Commands into Terminal (one at a time):
- launchctl unload -wF /Library/LaunchAgents/io.mus.Connect.plist
- sudo rm /Library/LaunchAgents/io.mus.Connect.plist
Step 3: Reinstall Musio (Optional)
