How do I connect my MIDI keyboard or controller to Musio?
To connect to your MIDI controller in standalone mode, open the Musio app and navigate to the Settings tab in the top left corner. Select Audio/MIDI Settings and a pop-up window will open. Make sure your MIDI controller is on and connected to your computer. Once you see it appear in the Active MIDI Inputs display, check the box next to it to connect.
Is there a way to download all of the instruments at once?
One of Musio’s benefits is that you don’t have to download an entire collection to use one instrument, saving you time and storage space. Because of this, we recommend downloading instruments as you need them. If you would like to download multiple instruments at the same time, Musio will allow you to do so, though you will need to select the download button for each instrument individually.
How can I control things like Dynamics?
Musio Instruments use CC1 Modwheel by default for Dynamics control, and this can be adjusted globally for new Instruments in Musio Connect.
You can reset the CC assignment for already-loaded Instruments in the Rack by selecting the Instrument tab (next to Explore and Catalog). Right-click on any of the parameters to reassign the CC for that control.
Can I set up Multi-Timbral Instances in Musio?
Yes! Musio support Multi-Output routing so you can separately control levels and FX plugins on different instruments, loaded within the same instance of Musio.
Does Musio support Keyswitching?
Yes! You can find keyswitch patches for different instruments at the top of each collection or by searching for keyswitches in the search bar. Once you have a keyswitch patch loaded, you'll be able to view the available articulations in the Instruments tab (next to Explore and Catalog). To customize your keyswitches, drag and drop each articulation onto the small keyboard on the bottom right to reassign them to different keys.
If I pause or cancel my Monthly or Annual Subscription, can I still use the Instruments I had in an old project?
If Musio Connect sees that your subscription is inactive, you will not be able to load instruments into the instrument rack or download new content. You will still be able to browse the catalog and see what is present, but until your subscription is reactivated you will not be able to load or play any Instruments. Previous sessions will not load the Instruments into the rack, but your saved data will be preserved, so if you reactivate your subscription and later reopen the session everything will load in normally.
