Curious about Musio’s free trial? Here are answers to common questions to help you get started:
Is there a free trial for Musio?
Yes! You can try Musio completely free for 7 days. During the trial, you’ll have full access to the entire Musio instrument catalog to create, compose, and collaborate. You’ll also receive email and in-app notifications before your trial expires. See the next answer below on how to set up the free trial.
How do I start the free trial?
- Go to musio.com/pricing and click “Try It Free”.
- Follow the steps there to create your Musio account.
- Log in to portal.musio.com.
- In the right column, click on the "Subscribe" button.
- You'll be taken to a payment page where you can enter in your payment information.
- Once completed, your 7-day free trial will begin and you'll see all the free trial and subscription information in the middle column of your account portal.
- In the top right corner, you can download the Musio installer for your operating system.
- Run the installer, log in to Musio, and you’re all set!
Will I be charged when my free trial ends?
Don’t worry, as you won’t be charged unless you decide to continue after your trial ends. If you cancel before the 7 days are up, your subscription will end and you won’t be billed. If you want to keep using Musio, your plan will continue automatically with no further action needed on your part.
Why do I need to enter payment information to access a free trial?
Requiring payment information upfront for a free trial acts as a safeguard, preventing free trial misuse, such as creating multiple accounts, and protects against spam, duplicate accounts and bot sign-ups. But don’t worry, you won’t be charged unless you decide to continue after the 7-day trial ends. If you do want to keep using Musio, your subscription will begin automatically, no extra steps needed, and with no interruption to your experience.
Will I be charged immediately after putting my payment information in?
Nope! The 7-day trial is completely free. You’ll only be charged if you decide to keep using Musio after the trial ends. If you cancel before the 7 days are up, you won’t be charged at all.
How will I know which date that I'll be charged?
Your trial end date and time will be clearly shown in your account portal (portal.musio.com) in the middle column, and we’ll also send you an email reminder before your first charge, so you’ll have plenty of notice.
How do I cancel my free trial?
To cancel your subscription before the free trial ends, log in to your account at portal.musio.com and find in the middle column where it says "Subscription". Just below that, you'll see in red font "Cancel Subscription". Click that to cancel your subscription. If you cancel before the 7 days are up, you'll still have access to the rest of the remaining time in the free trial and then it will officially end after the 7 days are up.

What if I only want a free trial to try Musio 1 (or a one-year educational discount license)? Do I still need to purchase a subscription to get the free trial?
Yes, the only way to access the free trial is by starting a monthly or annual subscription. But here’s the good news: You can start a trial, try out Musio, and cancel your subscription before the 7-day trial ends and you won’t be charged. After your trial ends, you can then choose to purchase Musio 1 or apply for a one-year educational discounted license at musio.com/edu without a subscription.
What happens to my projects that I was working on during the free trial if I cancel before it ends and don't subscribe?
If you cancel the Musio subscription during the free trial and before the subscription officially begins, the subscription will be cancelled. After the free trial expires, Musio instruments will no longer work in your project sessions. However:
- Your MIDI data will remain intact and you won’t lose any compositions.
- You’ll still be able to browse Musio’s catalog to see what’s available.
If you take a break and want to come back later, you can reactivate your membership anytime!
