Curious about Musio’s free trial? Here are answers to common questions to help you get started:
Is there a free trial for Musio?
Yes! You can try Musio completely free for 30 days—no credit card required. During the trial, you’ll have full access to the entire Musio instrument catalog to create, compose, and collaborate. You’ll also receive email and in-app notifications before your trial expires.
After the 30 days, your trial will simply end automatically—you won’t be charged anything. If you love Musio, you can subscribe to a monthly or annual plan or purchase a Musio 1 perpetual license at any time.
Will I be charged when my free trial ends?
No, Musio will not charge you when your trial ends. Your access will simply stop unless you choose to subscribe or purchase a license.
How do I cancel my free trial?
You don’t need to cancel anything! Since no payment information is required, your trial will end automatically after 30 days. If you run into any specific problems we can help with or there's any questions we can answer that might help with your Musio experience, please let us know by reaching out to our Support team at support@musio.com and we’ll get back to you asap!
How do I start the free trial?
- Go to musio.com and click “Try It Free” in the top right corner.
- Follow the steps there to create your Musio account—your free trial will start automatically.
-
Log in to portal.musio.com.
- In the middle column, you’ll see how many days remain in your trial.
- In the top right corner, you can download the Musio installer for your operating system.
- Run the installer, log in to Musio, and you’re all set!
What happens to my projects after the free trial ends?
If you don’t purchase a Musio subscription or Musio 1 license, Musio instruments will no longer work in your project sessions. However:
- Your MIDI data will remain intact—you won’t lose any compositions.
- You’ll still be able to browse Musio’s catalog to see what’s available.
If you take a break and want to come back later, you can reactivate your membership anytime!
I purchased Musio 1 but received an email saying my free trial is ending. What does this mean?
Musio provides a free trial to all users, so this is just an automated email letting you know your trial is expiring. It does not affect your Musio 1 license. Your Musio 1 license will remain active, and no further action is needed on your part.
Why do I need to start a free trial if I purchased Musio 1?
The free trial is required for all Musio accounts, but don’t worry—your Musio 1 license is still active. Once the trial expires, your Musio 1 license will continue providing access with no interruptions.
Why does my account still show an active free trial after purchasing Musio 1?
You may still see the free trial because it’s technically a trial of the Musio subscription model. Since Musio allows users to have both a subscription and a perpetual license (Musio 1) at the same time, the trial will still show as active until it expires.
However, even after the free trial expires, you will not be auto enrolled into a subscription of any kind. Your Musio 1 license will remain active with no further action needed.
To verify your Musio 1 license is active:
- Log in to portal.musio.com.
- In the middle column, you should see a status bar that says "Musio 1 Active."
If you see that, your Musio 1 license is active and you’re all set!
I signed up for the free trial, but it’s not showing in my account.
If your trial isn’t appearing in your account, please reach out to our Support Team at support@musio.com. We’ll help get you up and running as quickly as possible.
